The 7-Step Advanced Leadership Program
3. LEADERSHIP: THE EFFECTIVE EXECUTIVE
Effective decision making – a most important and least taught business skill
Premise
We need Dynamic Leaders, today, more than ever to perform a variety of managerial skills. Leadership gets something started and not only facilitates change, but creates change. You might say that, the role of a leader is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Reality
- Most leaders have had very little training in how to make a decision which affects all aspects of the business and the employees.
- Most leaders rely on a decision making process which is driven by personal preference not a rational process.
- Some leaders are not able to clearly communicate the company’s vision.
- Once the leader formulates an effective decision making process and teaches it throughout the company, productivity will increase. Guaranteed.
- Most leaders think they communicate clearly, but clear, concise communication is not the norm, and many cannot get their points across.
- Employees need to know what the goals of the organization are and how they should contribute. They want to understand what role they play and what benefits they gain from achieving the goals of the organization.
- Some leaders have a hard time keeping their employees motivated and do not have an effective rewards & recognition plan in place.
- Some leaders do not create the right environment to inspire their staff to be willing and able to bring new and fresh ideas/perspectives to the organization. [ Step 4: Marketing ]
